thank you for writing! it is really difficult to grow up fat in our culture - we celebrate diversity, yet simultaneously punish non-conformists. being in public every day is a test. people sneer and glare to try and shame you into changing your body for THEIR sake. if they succeed in making you feel bad about yourself one day, don’t be hard on yourself, just understand that body acceptance is a long ongoing process. take a bubble bath & repeat self-empowering things to yourself like “i am beautiful, i am powerful, i am worthy of love”. these girls & models on the site are all at different stages of their own body acceptance. trust that they did not get there overnight. even the strongest women you know have days where they doubt themselves. you’re on the right path by following blogs like this one - try following more body-positive tumblrs & filling your dashboard with images of women that look like you. the more you surround yourself with these images as opposed to the ones on tv & in magazines, the less pressure you’ll feel to change your body for other people. i wish you the best of luck on your journey - you ARE beautiful and how dare anyone tell you differently <3
